Geek Chic

`Sup readers (that was sarcasm):
So this week I bought a new lens (yes, the 50 f1.8) and a remote, and obviously I had to go like at the very same moment to test them, they didn´t disapointed me. I took some pictures at Merida´s zoo, one of my favorites here in town, plus it´s free (not like the crazy $11 dollars soo @Houston). I took some clones pictures and I really loved the results, so
1+1

See? that bokeh is glooorious, and for the prize!!! hands down the best purchase of this year. On other news...God has given me so many blessings, really. I can´t talk about it yet, but seriously, it´s BIG (and far) lol.

See ya round.

Hidden Place

Hi there:
I´m back, wuuu, hehehe, Well, just wanted to post a few pictures that I took on this beautiful park. They were an assigment for one of my photo classes, the teme was "portraiture", so I knew it was the place.
I was hoping it to be calm and lonely, but a pair of cops were all curious about me being there with a tripod and an expensive looking camera and they keeped on asking me questions, all I wanted was to be alone hehehehe. So they felt my uncomfotness (haha) and left shortly. So here they are...

what comes aroung, goes around...
mucho sol

Be kind ;)

Keeping Up

Hi
As I promissed, here I Am once again updating my blog (more than once a year lol). Well, some of You know that my Mom was diagnosticated with Breast Cancer in September of 2007, and it was, so far by now, the most struggling time of my life. I experienced my first hurricane, two of my dearest friends were involved in horrible car accidents, and two breast cancer diagnostics in my inmediate family (my Mom and my aunt). It was definitly a breaking point in my life. I was definitely wondering about what things happen in certain ways, and I often found myself feeling scared about dealing with the sickness of my mother, trying to minimize the facts by acting like if nothing ever happened because I felt that in pretending cancer wasn´t there, it really would dissapear.
Then I realized that the only real hope I could hold on was my Savior, the same one that 55 years ago saved my great grandfather from leprosy (that´s a story for another blog entry). Then I could see that everything happens for a reason and that something so hurthing could turn into beautiful and amazing results as my Dad searching God, and tighter bonds in my family.
That´s when God answered my questions, with silence, with grace, with love, after one year full of chemotherapy, radiation, hundres of thousands of pesos, a lot of prayers from family, friends, and strangers, in August of 2008 my mom was declared cancer-cell free.
It was hands down an experience I will never forget, but with no doubt I learned one of the most amazing lessons in walking in faith, sometimes the path is kind of rocky, well ok, TOO rocky, but it leads to an extraordinary place.

Love, Miss Pop;)
